Position Description

A New York (NY) State health system is seeking an experienced Med/Surg RN to join a dynamic inpatient unit with a strong focus on oncology. The unit serves a diverse patient population, including individuals with cancer, hematologic conditions, end-stage renal disease (ESRD), diabetes, gastrointestinal disorders, abdominal pain, dermatologic issues, and a wide range of general medical diagnoses.

Travel Registered Nurse - Medical/Surgical (Night Shift)

  • Contract Length: 13 Weeks
  • Start Date: May 5, 2025
  • End Date: August 3, 2025
  • Hours: 36 hours/week | Night Shift (6:30 PM - 7:00 AM)
  • Schedule Type: Deferred | Block scheduling not guaranteed
  • On-Call: Not required
  • Floating: Yes, to similar units

Required Experience & Certifications

  • Minimum 2 years recent Med/Surg experience
  • Prior oncology experience required
  • EPIC EMR experience
  • AHA BLS & NIHSS (current)
  • Active NY RN license (NURSYS verification required)Valid driver's license with matching demographic address
  • Must live 75+ miles from facility to qualify for travel rate (local candidates welcome at local rate)

Equipment Used

  • IV pumps, NG tubes, chest tubes, specialty beds (e.g., sand beds)

Required Meds/Drips

  • Heparin, Lasix, Chemotherapy

Submission Requirements

  • Skills checklist matching Med/Surg specialty
  • 2 recent charge/manager RN references
  • All RTO (requested time off) must be submitted up front
